What is PakistanOnFoot?
It is a three month long 2,300kms journey on foot that starts from Khunjerab, the Pakistan-China border situated at 4,600 meters all the way to the Karachi coast. Our founder, Naveed Khan started this journey from October 1st, 2016 and has already covered over 1,200kms and hopes to reach Karachi by the 30th of December, 2016.
What is the walk for?
Naveed has been dreaming of setting up a pilot Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) for the past three years and after getting tired of trying to convince donors to fund this project, he has taken it upon himself to raise the money through this walk. Once raised, he plans to take a few months off and work only on recruiting, training and managing this team which will be essential in responding to a number of natural disasters which the Hunza region is so prone to.
What happens after the walk?
Once PakistanOnFoot (the walk) is finished and hundreds of amazing photographs and video travel diaries are posted for the world to see, we will launch PakistanOnFoot 'the adventure-travel company' which will offer people tours that range from climbing mountains, going on desert safaris, walking through ancient history in cities such as Lahore, or if they prefer to go into complete tranquility, deep-sea fishing and scuba diving in the amazing Indian Ocean.
